Members Provide Feedback on Clay Courts plus PADEL Tennis

Members of Wargrave Tennis Club are currently voting on a range of motions in an online annual general meeting survey that runs until the 28th November. This includes feedback on new artificial clay courts that were installed in May 2024, plus potential plans for two more clay courts in 2025, together with the introduction of PADEL tennis to Wargrave.

If approved by members, the outline plans for PADEL would be to intially introduce a single outdoor court from April or May 2025. The court would be available for members to book at a cost of around £10-£20 per hour, a rate that is significantly lower than the £40-£60 that is charged by some commercial padel court providers. If successful, we would look at plans for a second PADEL court at a later stage.

In addition to our potential plans for PADEL, the committee are also working on plans to resurface a further two hard courts with artificial clay from April 2025, and in a way that will not impact membership fees. This would give us 4 artificial clay courts in total, to meet the demand of this popular playing surface for club sessions, or for when we play matches where 4 courts of the same surface are required.

The results from the internal survey will be available from the 28th November at a members meeting that is being held at the cricket club from 7.30pm. In parallel with the members survey, we are also getting feedback from non-members to help identify the things that would most persaud a non-members to join Wargrave Tennis Club in 2025. The non-members survey is available on this link.
