We are delighted to announce that our Club Treasurer, Richard Vertigan, has been awarded the 2024 Volunteer of the Year award by Berkshire LTA. In their announcement, the award was conferred upon Richard for “his tireless commitment to Wargrave Tennis Club as Treasurer and for assisting with the numerous new initiatives that the Club has introduced over the past 18 months.” In addition to his work in establishing a new accounting system, Richard has taken the lead in the installation of our new clay courts in 2024; developing plans for the introduction of Padel tennis from April 2025; the design and launch of a new Club website; and a wide variety of other tasks around the Club including new benches on all courts. Richard will receive his award on the 27th of February at the Berkshire LTA AGM at the Cantley House Hotel
