We are making good progress on our plans to introduce a single padel court in Wargrave for the start of the new season. The court will be constructed on one of our existing hard tennis courts and will be available for adult members to book at a rate of between £10 and £20 per hour. We are currently waiting for final planning approval from Wokingham Council, and if all goes well, we expect to have the new court ready by the start of May. We also have plans in place that will see a further two artificial clay courts installed at Wargrave in 2025. The latest update is that the new courts will be laid on court 3 and 4 by the end of March. This will give us a total of four clay courts, with the first two installed in May 2024. The clay courts have proven to be very popular with members, as 89% have given their approval for two more this season. Based on our survey feedback, players tell us that they prefer this surface in wetter conditions and find it gentler on the joints.
