Club Member Plays Padel for England

HUGE congratulations to long-standing Wargrave tennis member Mem Aldridge for representing England and winning the Legends Padel’s 4 Nations Tournament in the ladies over 70s category. Mem was partnered with Gail Cororan, and their victories helped England secure the overall title.

Mem has been a strong supporter of introducing padel at Wargrave and of our plans to have a second padel court in 2026. It truly is a game for all ages, and Mem is an inspiration to many of our younger players.

We launched padel at Wargrave in May 2025, and it has been an instant success, helping the Club to attract over 100 new adult members and growing overall membership by 42% in the past 12 months.   We had over 80 members playing in our Club Padel Championships, and we now run a popular internal padel ladder with members booking and recording results using Spond and Rankade.

Nearly 60% of our members are now playing both tennis and padel, with new padel members also enjoying the new clay tennis courts that we have installed at the Club. For more details, visit our Padel question and answer page.
