Latest Plans for Wargrave Padel and New Clay Courts Already Installed

The Club Committee are delighted to report that Wokingham Council have approved our plans to install a single pop-up padel court on one of our existing hard tennis courts. And this great news follows the recent installation of a further two artificial clay tennis courts at Wargrave, giving us 4 clay courts in addition to 3 hard tennis courts and padel.

New Padel Court

Due to a delay with our Spanish supplier, our plans for padel have been delayed by three weeks. We are now expecting the court to be shipped to Wargrave w/c 5th May with installation w/c 12th May. Once installed, adult members will be able ot book the court for £10 an hour (shared among 4 players) during off-peak times, and £20 an hour for peak times (peak is after 5pm on weekdays and before 5pm on weekends). New Artificial Clay Courts

We first introduced two artificial clay courts in 2024, and the latest two were installed on 21st March. This brings our total to four clay courts, catering to the demands of club social sessions, league matches, and individual bookings. Artificial clay is a relatively new surface that has gained popularity for providing better play in wet weather and being gentler on older joints. In a membership-wide vote, 89% supported the addition of extra courts, and along with our plans for padel, we hope this will help us attract even more new members for the coming 2025 season.
