Online AGM Survey With Future Investment Options

The online AGM process is launching for all members on 16th October and will run for three weeks, culminating in a members meeting on Thursday 6th November. Members will be able to vote and provide feedback via the survey, or they can vote in person at the main meeting itself.

One part of the survey is to gain members’ feedback on ideas for future investment plans. This includes two potential investment ideas that subject to membership feedback and support from the Parish Council, would be implemented in the next 12-18 months.

A Second Padel Court (without losing another tennis court)?

Our first proposal is to explore the opportunity of introducing a second padel court, while maintaining our existing 7 tennis courts.  We believe that a second padel court will help facilitate better social padel sessions and also allow us to host competitive matches against other clubs.  We will also have more capacity for juniors to play.

Ideas for a Larger Clubhouse?

Our second proposal is to enlarge our existing clubhouse to provide more space for adult socialising together with more space to support the growth in junior tennis.  For perspective, the adult membership of the Club has almost doubled since the current clubhouse was built, and the demands and safeguarding requirements for junior tennis have changed.

Members are encouraged to complete the AGM online survey to provide feedback on these potential plans. The results will be available by the 7th of November, and we will look to share them with the Parish Council along with further input from the LTA and Berkshire Tennis. If there is strong support for these ideas from ALL parties, we would consider holding an EGM in the new year to gain formal support to proceed.
