Following a two-week EGM process that closed on the 21st of January, members of Wargrave Tennis Club voted overwhelmingly in support of plans that will see Padel Tennis come to Wargrave, together with the installation of a further two artificial clay courts.
The response from members over the past two weeks has been outstanding, with 9 out of 10 members voting in favour of both proposals. A total of 128 votes were cast, representing a higher voting response than at the AGM in December and the EGM in 2024. This reflects a turnout of 58% of all adult members, which is well above our constitutional voting threshold of 30%.
With this clear support, the committee will do everything possible to install the new clay courts and padel court in time for the start of the new season. But members are asked to be patient, the hard work has only just begun!
