Club of the Year Party and Opening of Second Padel Court

Over 50 members of Wargrave Tennis Club gathered in style this week to formally celebrate winning the 2026 Berkshire Tennis Club of the Year award, being recognised as an LTA National Club of the Year Finalist, and to officially open our second padel court. The cutting of the red ribbon was performed by Cllr Marion Pope, a long-serving and distinguished member of Wargrave Parish Council. We are hugely grateful to Marion and the Parish Council for their continued support, which has played such an important role in the Club’s success and development.

Following the formalities, it was down to some serious sporting rivalry as 48 players took part in a fun team competition, with 24 representing Team Chairman and 24 representing Team Head Coach, Ollie Brown. After three rounds of tennis, padel and pickleball, Team Ollie emerged victorious by 27 rubbers to 21 – much to the Chairman’s disappointment! The evening finished with members enjoying fizz, beers and pizza while celebrating another milestone in what has been an extraordinary year for the Club. 🎾🥂🏆
