Padel Box League for All Levels – Play and Compete
Starting in mid-October via the MatchSpace app, we will launch a new ongoing padel competition for everyone – from our strongest players to those new to padel (and new to the Club). Players will be grouped into boxes of 8 of similar ability, with around 8 weeks to arrange matches within each box. Using an Americano format, you compete and score as an individual – so no partner is needed. More details and competition sign-up will be available next week. In the meantime, make sure you download the MatchSpace app and get ready to play! This competition will replace the one using RankAde or Spond.
Christmas Party with Ibiza Beats? – Friday 4th December
Please save Friday 4th December at Hennerton Golf Club for a Club Christmas Party for all our adult members, of all ages. It will be a great chance to meet new and old friends away from the courts. Expect great food, drinks, music and dancing – and we MIGHT even throw in some Ibiza beats (Ollie Maunsell, take note) for our younger and newer members! 💃🕺 Full details coming soon.
Annual General Meeting – Meeting Dates and Agenda
This is a formal announcement confirming that we are planning to commence our Annual General Meeting process on 22nd October with a three-week online membership survey, followed by a final meeting on Thursday, 12th November. The AGM will include the usual report on the Club’s progress and a vote to approve our year-end financial accounts. Members will also be invited to vote on committee nominations, fee rate levels for 2027, plus investment plans to extend the Clubhouse. The agenda will include consideration of any other motions that are submitted. If any member wishes to submit a motion or stand for one of the committee positions, they are asked to do so no later than 9 am on Thursday 8th October.

Congratulations to all our finalists and winners across 13 tennis, padel and pickleball competitions – and to everyone who took part. Welcome Our 600th New Member – More Record Numbers
We are delighted to report that our membership has now topped 600, with 61 new members who have joined us since 1st July. For new members, please read the Club Welcome Letter, complete the feedback survey and join our WhatsApp Community. We are now actively tracking court utilisation data and we will review feedback in our forthcoming AGM survey to decide at what point we need to introduce a waiting list….but it is getting close.
Padel Court Fix – Court Now Fully Open
With thanks to some extra work from our two suppliers, we are pleased to say that the repairs to padel court 9 have now been completed. You may still experience some variable bounces as the court settles after additional sand was added.
Clubhouse Extension Plans – Next Steps
Finally, thanks again to members who have provided feedback on plans for the future development of the clubhouse. Everyone clearly likes the “Alternative Plans” to create a clubhouse that better meets the needs of our growing membership, while recognising that our budget ultimately has its limits. We are now working on the detailed costs, with the aim of getting formal membership approval at our AGM in October; if approved, work could potentially start the initial work at the end of the year.
